Following the formal announcement of Her Majesty’s death, all flags will immediately be lowered to half-mast. Flags will be raised to full mast at 1100hrs on D+1 (the day after death of the Sovereign), when the Proclamation is read at St James’s Palace in London. They will continue to fly at full mast until 1300hrs on D+2 to allow for the Proclamation to be read out in Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh. Flags will remain at half-mast until 0800hrs on the day following the funeral. This reflects a period of national mourning and sadness.
