Changing Places Toilet – Silloth Green

Silloth-on-Solway Town Council is seeking quotations for a Changing Places (CP) toilet on Silloth Green, adjacent to the existing public conveniences on Criffel Street, Silloth, CA7 4DA.

Background:

Silloth-on-Solway Town Council strive to ensure our Parks & Open Spaces are accessible, so that all residents and visitors can enjoy the local surroundings. We have successfully been awarded funding to install a Changing Places toilet on Silloth Green, to enable families to enjoy the facilities.

Following initial investigations, a purpose-built modular unit housing the Changing Place would be most appropriate, on a level location adjacent to the existing public toilets located on Criffel Street.

Water services, drainage and electricity will need to be connected into the existing services at the public toilets located adjacent to the site.

Planning permission is not required as this comes under permitted development.

Objectives

The contract will include the building of a Changing Places toilet facility which is compliant with the following two documents which outline the standards necessary, and will be registrable under the Changing Places scheme on the national website:

• BS8300, and
• Changing Places: A Practical Guide. (This document can be found on the Changing Places website).
