Pride Month

June is pride month, an opportunity to celebrate the LGBT+ community. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all those celebrating, a happy pride month. Silloth is a small town with a big heart, somewhere you can be yourself without fear.

The reason why Pride Month is in June is that it marks the police raid that prompted the Stonewall Riots which in turn led to the establishment of LGBTQ+ rights. 

I’m very proud of being a part of the LGBT community, I love the fact the people of Silloth welcomed Silloth Pride. Unfortunately Silloth Pride was postponed this year due to lack of volunteers. But hopefully we will be back next year. Pride is a wonderful celebration of the LGBT + community.
