Withdrawal of Service 60 between Skinburness and Maryport

Cumberland Council has been contacted by Ellenvale Coaches who have told them that unfortunately, due to low passenger numbers and rising costs, it is no longer viable for them to continue the Service 60 between Skinburness and Maryport, and they have applied to the Department of Transport to withdraw the service from 30^th July, which will leave the majority of the route with no bus service.

Other local bus operators are being contacted to see if there is any interest in replacing the current service, either in full or in part.

If not Cumberland Council has the Rural Wheels Scheme and also the Voluntary Car Scheme, although both depend on availability of drivers.

Cumberland Council will keep us informed when they have any additional information.
