Children’s Play Areas

Silloth Town Council is responsible for three children’s play areas – Eden Street play area, Woodland play area & Pirate Ship play area which are looked after by the Council’s grounds maintenance team.  There is also the BMX track and the Water Splash Pad. They are inspected regularly to ensure that they are clean and safe.  An independent annual inspection is also carried out, with our Play Equipment Committee considering any improvements or maintenance required to the play areas.

In 2018, new equipment was added to the Eden Street play area and the Pirate Ship play area was opened on Silloth Green.  At a recent meeting of the Play Equipment Committee, it was agreed that the time has now come to look at replacing some of the older items of equipment within the Eden Street play area.  In the coming months, it is hoped to make a start on putting together a Town Plan and the replacement of play equipment will be one of the projects to be put forward.  It is hoped that our County and Allerdale Borough Councillors will get behind the proposals and support our bids for funding.

To report any damage or graffiti in any of the play areas please contact the Town Council  Tel: 016973 31128 or email: townclerk@silloth-on-solway.co.uk

Our play areas were reopened from 8 July 2020, in line with the easing of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.  We ask that everyone adhere to the guidelines when using the facilities and judge the risk of Covid-19 to you and your family and friends before entering.  New signage has been placed up around the play areas to remind people about the guidelines.
