We realise there will have been some excitement about the Government’s announcement that outdoor play areas can be reopened. However, the guidance which was only published on 26 June, comes with a long list of safety measures that the owner of the play area must consider and a detailed risk assessment compiled before they can be reopened.
At their meeting on 6th July, the Town Council will review the situation and consider whether they can safely reopen the play areas. They will consider the government guidance, the full risk assessments and the view of their insurer etc. They will also consider the benefits to our local residents.
We are aware how desperately young families have been looking forward to using the facilities. We will do everything we can to make that possible, while keeping residents of Silloth safe.
Thank you for being patient.
