Accessing food and essential supplies
The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs yesterday (29 April) published guidance on how to get food and other essential supplies during the coronavirus pandemic.
The guidance has been developed with sector input and seeks to avoid generating new demands on council services. It is not being actively promoted at the national level.
It first encourages people to seek help from family and friends, then explains how they could secure a volunteer for some straightforward tasks such as dropping off shopping and then, if that’s not meeting their needs, signposts them to their local council support line.
